Someone is working on a new mod for the original Doom, in which the armored space marine known as Doomguy will be replaced by Hank Hill from the classic animated sitcom King of the Hill. Given that id software's 1993 release is easily one of the most influential FPS games in history, helping to shape the genre almost 30 years ago, it's perhaps not too surprising that the iconic shooter is still finding its way into the limelight. Much of that can be attributed to the ongoing modding community.
Anyone who's ever played the original releases knows there are an almost endless array of mods for Doom. There are even those that completely convert it into a different experience entirely, pretty much changing it into a brand-new game distant from the source material. After almost three decades, many would be forgiven for thinking that just about every modification idea has been implemented, but it seems pretty clear even at this stage that there are still a lot of creative types willing to share their Doom-like projects.

As spotted by PCGamer, a user who goes by FreewayHere is in the midst of making their own mod for Doom that will feature Hank Hill as the main protagonist. While screenshots suggest the gameplay will still be the same as the classic release, there are a number of changes that have been made which put it in line with the Mike Judge show. For instance, as well as replacing the Doomguy's face with Hank's own pixelated version, it also looks as though there will be a lawn mower and BBQ grill added, perhaps as weapons the player can choose.
