Warning: contains spoilers for Strange #2!
Death has its own Sorcerer Supreme, on par with Doctor Strange or Clea. Doctor Strange’s recent passing left a huge void in the Marvel Universe, one filled by Clea, his former student and lover. But even though Doctor Strange is dead, Clea swears she will bring him back somehow, leading to a confrontation with the Harvestman, the Sorcerer Supreme's lethal opposite in Strange #2, on sale now in print and digital. The issue is written by Jed MacKay, illustrated by Marcelo Ferreira, inked by Don Ho, colored by Java Tartaglia and lettered by Cory Petit.
In last year’s Death of Doctor Strange, someone murdered the Sorcerer Supreme. A magical clone of Strange, created when he was younger, was charged with solving the murder. Kaecilius, a villain of Strange’s, was revealed as the murderer, and after he was dispatched, Doctor Strange was able to move on to his final reward. His passing meant Earth needed a new Sorcerer Supreme, and Clea stepped up, assuming the mantle and moving into Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum. Clea has proved a far more volatile and abrasive Sorcerer Supreme, turning away challenges from the likes of Doctor Doom. Clea has also sworn to bring her former lover back to life. However, Death has other ideas. In Strange #2, readers meet the Harvestman, one of Death’s agents, who is established as the dark opposite of the Sorcerer Supreme.
