You guys don’t need phones! In the official Diablo Immortal release date announcement earlier today, Blizzard has stated that Diablo Immortal will be playable on PC at launch. We have collected all the information available regarding Diablo Immortal’s PC client implementation:
Blizzard has heard the community’s feedback. Diablo Immortal is supposed to be a “lifestyle game” that can be played anywhere — and the team has recognized that this also includes playing the game on PC. The Open Beta PC client will support mouse and keyboard inputs but the game will also support controllers. Players will also be able to use WASD controls instead of point-and-click. The PC client looks to support various resolutions, looking «absolutely gorgeous». The PC version of Diablo Immortal can be installed via the Battle.net client, and players can use their Battle.net balance for in-game purchases. Pre-registration via Battle.net is also available right now! The team has put a lot of thought into the user interface and relies on community feedback to improve Immortal’s overall PC gameplay experience. No details have been shared regarding PC system requirements for Diablo Immortal yet. PC Support in Alpha and BetaBefore this groundbreaking announcement, PC support was not supposed to be a feature in the lifecycle of Diablo Immortal. During Immortal’s alpha and beta tests, players tried to get the game to work on PC through various emulators like Bluestacks or MEmu. The game itself wasn’t optimized at that time though, and to reach optimal emulation that used all the resources of your PC meant a lot of technical work. Thanks to the announcement, we now know that Blizzard had been working on their own official emulation for quite a while.
