Destiny 2 is one of the more popular MMO-styled games on the market right now, known for its in-depth lore, quests, and activities. The game is full of content to be explored, from Public Events that spawn inside game areas to PvE or PvP activities. Although Bungie's instructional tutorial «New Light» enhances the player experience and understanding of game mechanics, there is a lot of information left for players to learn. One such facet is the Seasons of Destiny 2, as while the base game is free for players, its expansions and premium content are not.
Seasonal activities allow players to access new story content, face unique challenges, and unlock gear, with each Season split into two facets: free-to-play and premium content. With 100 tiers divided between free-to-play and premium, the bonuses for both can be seen under the Season Tab in the Director menu. Furthermore, each Season has challenges that change weekly, which grant players additional XP, Mods, Currency, Rank, Weapons, and Armor. For players to participate in all Seasonal content, they must purchase a Season Pass, which gives them access to the duration of the current Season running roughly 10 weeks.

To purchase a Destiny 2 Season Pass, players must use an in-game currency called Silver. It costs 1,000 Silver for a Season Pass, which can be bought with real money for $9.99. If players want to play multiple Seasons under the current Year, they need to spend 1,000 Silver every time a Season is released. The current Season 17, Season of the Haunted, lasts from May 24 to August 23.
