Week three of Destiny 2's Season of the Haunted is well underway, bringing the next step in the Bound in Sorrow questline. In the first part of the story, Guardians saw the return of the Leviathan after a long absence. The ship has become corrupted with darkness and is now filled with Nightmares. Eris, Crow, Commander Zavala, and Caitl, have all begone investigating the mysterious connection between Emperor Calus and the Pyramid. The season is very reminiscent of the Shadowkeep expansion and involves Crow, Zavala, and Caitl, each confronting their own Nightmares.
Players are tasked with infiltrating the deeper parts of the Derelict Leviathan upon Eris's command. After setting up a set number of Ritual Amplifiers around the ship, the Nightmare begins to take form. The first two weeks revolved around conducting a severance ritual with Destiny 2's Crow to weaken Calus's connection to the Pyramid. Guardians had to finish both the Shame and Reconciliation missions before the ceremony was completed. Now that Crow's story is done, it is time for Zavala to face his own Nightmare.
