In this modern era of gaming, words like «upscaling» and «ray tracing» often get thrown around, having such technologies now forming an integral part of the industry. With Nvidia utilizing its RTX software in many AAA titles, its biggest rival AMD also has tricks up its sleeve. Team red's equivalent comes in the form of FidelityFX Super Resolution, or FSR, which is the company's open-source upscaling algorithm, with version 2.0 having recently come out. Given this, it now looks as though this tech is compatible with a bunch of modern games.
That's according to a recent report from WCCFTech, which cites a number of Reddit posts. It seems as though FSR 2.0 is now compatible in such games as Death Stranding, Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition, and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. There are also instructions on how to implement the AI into each game. It should be pointed out that, as these are mods, users may find a few issues switching from Nvidia's DLSS, or Deep Learning Super Sampling, to the AMD equivalent, with the possibility of notable «ghosting.» The report goes on to warn that such mods can't be used in online games, lest players risk a ban.
