Warning! Spoilers ahead for Wolverine #20
Tired of being rejected by the rest of mutantkind, Deadpool is taking inspiration from Darth Vader as he enters a new era in the Marvel Universe. While practically every mutant was offered the chance to live in the independent mutant nation of Krakoa, Deadpool was not invited. Now, the latest issue of Wolverine sees Wade Wilson looking to change his image, initiating an all-new redemption arc.
Since Jonathan Hickman kickstarted the Age of Krakoa era which began with House of X, Marvel's various X-Men titles have practically had their own established lore within the greater Marvel Universe. Having formed their own nation, mutants have become a more dominant power in the world than they ever have before. However, Deadpool hasn't really been involved (even though he'd like to be). Following the end of his 2021 «King of the Monsters» series from Kelly Thompson and Gerardo Sandoval, Deadpool has made several attempts set foot on Krakoa, only to be prevented by Wolverine and X-Force, having become Krakoa's security team. While Deadpool did get an X-Force reunion with Wolverine and Domino at the tail-end of last year's Hellfire Gala, that was only a one-time thing. Wade has since been stopped multiple times from returning, each attempt more ridiculous than the last.
