Dead by Daylight celebrated turning six not long ago, and it's still a very popular online horror game, especially among the streaming community. With Behaviour Interactive announcing a new game called Meet Your Maker, fans can start looking forward to what the studio has in store. One of the things that makes DbD so well regarded is the fact that it features a slew of horror villains, such as Freddy Krueger, Scream's Ghostface, and Silent Hill's Pyramid Head. However, there's been a slight critique from the original designer over that last one.
According to a tweet from the creator of Pyramid Head, Masahiro Ito, the team behind Dead by Daylight used the wrong monster design. The tweet argues that the Pyramid Head in Behaviour's game is the one from Silent Hill 2, which was only intended to be a manifestation of James Sunderland's psyche. From a story perspective, it doesn't make sense that this Pyramid Head is in DbD when James himself isn't in the map. Ito goes on to say that there is a different design, known as the White Hunter, which is more suited for use in a non-canonical fashion.
Dead by Daylight Delays New Features
Fans of the multiplayer game will know that the Silent Hill villain was added to Dead by Daylight in 2020, where it was referred to as The Executioner, and an updated version implemented a new skin for the monster last October. Whether Behaviour will take Ito's words to heart and decide to alter the design to be less like the Silent Hill 2 variant cannot be said. It's unlikely to cause too much of a fuss, as it should be just a simple change to the model's textures. In fact, it may even go down well with fans who see The Executioner as being out of place when James Sunderland is not in the picture.
