While the game is already notoriously difficult, many of Dark Souls' best mods allow gamers to craft even greater and more unique challenges to overcome.
As a robust action role-playing game, Dark Souls and its sequels contain a huge variety of different weapons, armors, spells and items for players to acquire. However, fan-made mods have served to further increase players' options by adding new content to the world of Lordran. This may come in the form of new weapons with special properties, rearranged areas of a map or even entirely new boss encounters for Dark Souls devotees to overcome. While many modders try to maintain the unique dark fantasy style of FromSoftware's series, some creators take more liberties with their additions. For example, one Dark Souls mod adds Halo guns which fail to maintain the aesthetic or balance of the original game.

As reported by Wccftech, a newDark Souls Remastered mod titled The Old Lords 2.0 was recently released by Nexus Mods user LordOrange16. The extensive modification strives to completely overhaul the original experience by adding new items, restoring cut content and changing the placement of enemies and items.
