Supermassive Games, the prolific development team behind Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology seems to have trademarked yet another game, one that wasn't featured as part of the developer's previous trademarking spree. Instead, this new game seems to be a complete mystery at this time.
According to the studio's trademark listing, the title of this new, as-of-yet unannounced game is The Quarry, and it doesn't seem like it's going to be a part of Supermassive Games' existing intellectual properties. That said, it's worth remembering that a trademark doesn't necessarily have to mean that this is a full AAA release, or that The Quarry would be coming out anytime soon, for that matter.

The reason why it's highly unlikely that The Quarry is another entry in The Dark Pictures Anthology is that Supermassive Games trademarked five entirely new Dark Pictures games not that long ago, none of which was titled as such. In true Supermassive fashion, however, the official logo of The Quarry features stylized lettering that may hint at the nature of the game in question. Though, at this time, it doesn't seem particularly revealing.
What's particularly interesting about The Quarry is that this might be the online multiplayer game from Supermassive that the developer had been hiring for late in 2021. The job listing referenced combat and progression systems, making it sound as if the game was an RPG, or that it could lean towards something of that type. A far cry from the majority of Supermassive Games' previous (and future) output.
