Mordenkainen Presents: Multiverse Of Monsters is an upcoming Dungeons & Dragons book that contains over thirty playable races that can be used for D&D characters. Many of these races have appeared in other D&D books, but the versions in Multiverse of Monsters have been updated based on player feedback, with some of them becoming far stronger than they were before. Multiverse of Monsters will initially be published as part of the D&D Rules Expansion Gift Set in January, before receiving a standalone release in May.
The Player's Handbook features a selection of playable races that come from the standard fantasy stock, including elves and dwarves, along with a few unusual choices, like the dragonborn and the tieflings. The D&D multiverse is a big place, however, and there are residents on every plane that take up the path of the adventurer. Players will eventually grow weary of humans and demihumans, and will want to choose a more exotic choice for their next character.
