More than one year after Cyberpunk 2077's launch, people finally appear to be happy with it. That's following the announcement this week that the current-gen version of the game is finally here. It looks a lot better, there are new customization options, and the ability to start the game from a different location. Plus, a free five-hour demo of the game on the latest consoles to check out if you like Night City or not.
That all sounds great, but it really wouldn't be Cyberpunk if there weren't problems sprinkled in for good measure. As noted on the CD Projekt Red website, if you have been playing the PS4 version of Cyberpunk on a PS5 up until this point, the trophies you have earned will not come with you when you transfer your save to the upgraded version.

That means you will have to earn them all over again. Great news for the easier-to-get trophies as you can pick them up again and boost your score, very bad news for the more difficult trophies to unlock that are about to steal away hours of completionists' lives all over again. CDPR states that since the current-gen version of the game has a different SKU, trophies cannot be transferred across, hence having an entirely incomplete list when you fire up the new version for the first time.
This actually poses a bigger problem than the one it seems to be on the surface. Since your save will transfer across, when you play the new version of Cyberpunk for the first time, you will jump right into the game wherever you left it when you powered down the PS4 version for the final time.
