Earlier today, CD Projekt Red confirmed it would be hosting a Cyberpunk 2077 stream tomorrow, February 15. This is currently scheduled for 7 AM PT, and while the company has not yet confirmed what would be discussed there, many are itching for Cyberpunk 2077 news on PS5 and Xbox Series X versions, as well as a new roadmap, free DLC, paid expansions, and more.
It could be some of that or all of that is at the Cyberpunk 2077 stream tomorrow, but as fans whittle away the time until then, something interesting has popped up via recent leaks and data mines. In short, it seems CD Projekt Red may not intend to announce a release date for the PS5, Xbox Series X version tomorrow—it may intend to release the upgrade.

Fans should take all of this with a grain of salt, but there is some suggestion that this could be true. First, someone managed to find an Xbox Series X-optimized version of the Cyberpunk 2077 game icon (as seen below). Others began to report finding it on their Xbox consoles as well. Some took this as evidence enough, although these icons are made ahead of time. Its appearance online could have been a coincidence, but then, someone else dug into the Cyberpunk 2077 files and found a reference to new-gen versions there.
Now, whether this is true or not remains to be seen, but it would be a shocking, powerful move for CD Projekt Red. This is especially true given, at its last word, Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 and Xbox Series X upgrades would be free. It is worth mentioning, however, that both sources of information on this new-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 only specify the Xbox version.
