Netflix releases a trailer for Operation Mincemeat, revealing more details about the World War II movie. Academy Award-winning actor Colin Firth leads the cast of the British war drama as the remarkable intelligence officer Ewen Montagu, who teams up with Charles Cholmondeley (played by Succession's Matthew Macfadyen) to plan one of the greatest deceptions in history. The film's cast also includes Kelly Macdonald, Penelope Wilton, Harry Potter actor Jason Isaacs, Johnny Flynn as James Bond author Ian Fleming, and Simon Russell Beale as Winston Churchill.
Operation Mincemeat hails from acclaimed director John Madden, The King's Speech producers Iain Canning and Emile Sherman, and screenwriter Michelle Ashford, the last of who is best known for writing HBO's Emmy-nominated WWII miniseries The Pacific. Based on the extraordinary true story, Operation Mincemeat follows the two British intelligence officers as they plan and execute the titular deception effort designed to keep the Allied invasion of Sicily hidden.
