A clever Minecraft player used an interesting glitch to make bookshelves hold books, an unintentional mechanic that has countless applications in base building. Minecraft’s social media presence has elongated the game’s mainstream popularity, with players continuously displaying their epic builds, creative designs, and useful Redstone contraptions on the internet. Last month a player made a functioning clock face in Minecraft that displays passing time like a stopwatch, and another clever player used an optical illusion to create a rocket ship. While Minecraft is in a fairly solid state at this point in its development, the vanilla game does still have occasional glitches – both useful and frustrating. A Reddit user who has since deleted their account cleverly used a Minecraft glitch to allow bookshelves to hold books. In the video posted to the social media site, the user demonstrated that they can open bookshelves and store items in them, allowing them to store books in a realistic way that Minecraft’s vanilla mechanics don’t allow players to do.
