Chloe Okuno is the director of Watcher, a psychological horror film starring Maika Monroe. Set in Bucharest, Romania, Watcher centers onMonroe's Julie as she moves to her husband's home country. The beautiful apartment they move into is studded with large windows and, one night, Julia notices her neighbor staring at her across the street. What follows is a cat-and-mouse chase meets slasher movie as Julia becomes increasingly paranoid that the man across the street is following her every move.
In addition to Watcher, Okuno has directed V/H/S 94 segment Storm Drain as well as several short films. Watcher also stars Karl Glusman and Burn Gorman.

Screen Rant sat down with Okuno to discuss Watcher, including filming on location in Romania, directing found footage horror versus her more restrained camera work in this movie, and much more.
Screen Rant: Having seen your V/H/S segment, Watcher felt so different in that Storm Drain felt very frenetic with the camera moving all over the place. With Watcher, many of the shots are still and the viewer gets to sit with what's in the frame. What was it like going from one extreme to the other?
Chloe Okuno: It was interesting. It really was one after the other. I shot V/H/S in Toronto and flew directly to Romania to do Watcher. Honestly, I feel like they're both styles of horror that I really love. It kind of felt natural in a way. Like I loved getting to do V/H/S and just going balls to the wall crazy and doing this big creature and sort of incorporating dark humor and campiness and gore.
