Activision is releasing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's single-player campaign more than a week early to those who digitally preorder the game.
Announced on the Call of Duty website, the promotion offers unrestricted access to Modern Warfare 2's campaign from October 20, well ahead of the official October 28 release date.
The early access is available through any digital preoder of the game, meaning on PS4 and PS5 through the PlayStation Store, on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S through the Microsoft Store, and on PC through either Steam or Battle.net.
Preordering also grants PlayStation users access to two different beta weekends in September (and just one for other platforms) and a handful of skins to be used in last year's Call of Duty: Vanguard and Battle Royale game Call of Duty: Warzone.
The new campaign takes places in several countries around the world and follows on from 2019's Modern Warfare, featuring characters including Captain John Price, Kyle "Gaz" Garrick, Simon "Ghost" Riley, and John "Soap" MacTavish.
In our preview, IGN said: "Modern Warfare 2’s campaign is very promising from the brief preview footage [we were] able to see. It brings back the classic Modern Warfare gameplay, just modernized and with new mechanics and environments added to keep the franchise feeling fresh."
