Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 launches later this month but rumors have already started flying about what content Infinity Ward has planned post-launch. While there's likely a bunch of stuff planned, one particular insider has great news for long-time fans of the series as they've claimed that Modern Warfare 2 will get a "Greatest Hits" Map Pack during its second year, comprised of fan-favorite maps from across every Call of Duty game.
While this news hasn't been confirmed as of yet, reputable industry insider Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming has claimed that he has been able to confirm that Infinity Ward has "premium DLC" planned for Modern Warfare 2's second year. Activision will apparently use the DLC to supplement its sales throughout 2023. The exact contents of the DLC weren't specified, but Henderson claims that 'remastered maps' will be included.

However, it is worth noting that the original leaker - TheGhostofHope - also recently claimed that the next game from Sledgehammer Games will be a sequel to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. However, the leaker is getting a significant amount of pushback from other notable insiders such as CharlieIntel and the aforementioned Tom Henderson.
Even though nothing is confirmed, it's not too much of a stretch to imagine a "Greatest Hits" map pack, especially considering how many great maps the series has had over the years. Bringing back maps like World at War's Castle and Firing Range from Call of Duty: Black Ops would be a great way for fans to revisit their favorite locations whilst also giving new players some quality maps to explore for the first time. A win-win for everyone!
