The Central Government has introduced the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to hoist our national flag at home to celebrate the 75th year of India's independence. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism as well as raise awareness about the Indian National Flag. To facilitate this initiative India Post is providing free doorstep delivery of the National Flag. All you have to do is place an order for the Tricolour at the ePostoffice postal and pay a fee of Rs. 25. The Tiranga with dimensions of 20 inches x 30 inches will be delivered to your doorstep without a pole. You can also visit the nearest post office to buy the National Flag.
The event will be observed between August 13 and August 15. The Ministry of Culture has even released instructions to fold the national flag and store it in a proper way as the national flag is the symbol of national pride. The national flag is popularly known as the Tiranga or the tricolor as it comprises three colors- saffron, white and green.
The Flag Code of India came into effect on January 26, 2002, and certain amendments made on December 30, 2021.
The material used to prepare the national flag should be hand-spun or hand-woven or machine-made. One can use polyester, cotton, wool, silk, and khadi to make the tricolor.
