Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) was banned in India for both Android and iOS devices back in July. However, a recent video by a YouTuber showed a flaw where players on iOS devices could still purchase the in-game UC currency. Popular YouTuber Creative Pavan recently uploaded a video where he showed that iOS players could still purchase the UC using a workaround.
Creative Pavan demonstrated how he was able to purchase the BGMI UC. An Apple ID is a prerequisite for this glitch to work. First, he took to UPI to recharge his Apple ID by Rs. 2000. Then, he used the funds in the Apple ID to purchase a Rs. 699 UC Pack through the in-game store.
Although this glitch worked for Creative Pavan, players are advised not to use it to make in-game purchases as BGMI has been banned in India.
Battlegrounds Mobile India was launched in India in 2021 as a replacement for the already banned PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Mobile, popularly known as PUBG Mobile. PUBG Mobile was banned due to its links with China which posed a risk to state security. Subsequently, another popular mobile game known as Garena Free Fire was also banned due to the same reasons. BGMI was released last year after PUBG's ban due to high demand from PUBG's player base and it became an instant hit.
BGMI is based on PUBG but it was released by South Korean company Krafton. Since the mobile game seemingly had no ties to China, people were left confused as to why it disappeared from the Google Play Store and the App Store recently.
Google said, “On receipt of the order, following established process, we have notified the affected developer and have blocked access to the app that remained available on the Play Store in India.”
