A new partnership between Bruce Campbell and DC Comics is sure to have fans saying "Groovy!" The legendary actor is penning a new miniseries that will pit DC's Sgt. Rock against an army of Nazi zombies, entitled DC Horror Presents: Sgt. Rock vs. The Army of the Dead.
Campbell is obviously no stranger to undead menaces. Across a trilogy of movies, a television series, comics, video games and even a musical, Campbell became a horror icon for his portrayal as the wisecracking Ash Williams from the Evil Dead franchise. His popularity as the Deadite-hunting hero is so well-known, Campbell even wrote and directed My Name is Bruce, a film which the actor is mistaken for his demon-slaying counterpart. Though Bruce Campbell has «retired» the Ash Williams character, he's still very active in the horror and film scene, even making a cameo in the recent Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness movie.

But just because fans won't see Campbell portraying Ash anytime soon doesn't mean the actor is done tangling with the undead. DC announced on their blog that the actor, along with artist Eduardo Risso, will be creating DC Horror Presents: Sgt. Rock vs. The Army of the Dead. The story features DC's greatest army leader Sgt. Franklin John Rock and his Easy Company fighting in Berlin in 1944. Facing defeat, Hitler has a serum created that can return his soldiers back to life, forcing Sgt. Rock and his men to fight against a hoard of Nazi zombies. DC promises a lot of shocks and thrills with the new miniseries, including a variant cover by Frank Quitely that's too horrific for the publisher to even preview.
