Blizzard has announced Warcraft Arclight Rumble for mobile devices.
The title was revealed during a live stream on Tuesday, which is viewable above.
“It’s a mobile strategy fast-paced hero collector and villain collector game that has a vast PVE campaign,” said associate game director Adam Kugler. “It also has dungeons and raids and PVP and co-op and everything you’d expect from a Warcraft game from Blizzard.
“We were super inspired by tower defence games,” he added. “Our game isn’t really a tower defence game, it’s more our style to do a tower offence game.”
A closed beta for Warcraft Arclight Rumble is coming to limited regions soon.
In February, Activision Blizzard said it planned to get “all-new mobile Warcraft content into players’ hands for the first time” in 2022.
A year earlier, the publisher revealed that multiple free-to-play Warcraft mobile games were deep in development.
“This will create opportunities for both existing players and new fans to experience the Warcraft universe in entirely new ways,” CEO Bobby Kotick said at the time.
Last month Blizzard announced World of Warcraft’s ninth expansion, Dragonflight.
Among other features, Dragonflight will introduce World of Warcraft’s first ever combination race and class: dracthyr Evokers.
The expansion, which doesn’t yet have a release date, was announced alongside World of Warcraft Lich King Classic.
Arriving later this year, the re-release of the game’s 2008 expansion will be available at no additional cost to players with an active World of Warcraft subscription.
