Blizzard gives fans an update on the Overwatch 2 hero lockout issue, as some are still finding the problem even after emergency maintenance took place. In the days following Overwatch 2's recent launch, many gamers are having problems when they try to load into the FPS. The first major issue Overwatch 2 faced on release was the sheer amount of players trying to log on to the game at once, causing immense queue times. Blizzard has given updates to fans on these issues, but more keep popping up over time.
Recently, Bastion and Torbjorn had to be removed from Overwatch 2 due to exploits that were found with the characters. Bastion can't be picked in any Overwatch 2 game mode, and Torbjorn has been relegated just to quick play at the time of writing. Both heroes had issues regarding their abilities, as players were able to utilize Bastion's Artillery Fire and Torbjorn's overload more times than they were meant to.

Another issue with Overwatch 2's hero system has been pointed out recently as players have informed Blizzard that they cannot access the heroes they've unlocked when they load into a match. Blizzard has since stated that it is aware of this problem, explaining that it is caused by an issue with the Overwatch 2 servers that «tracks player progression.» Blizzard does not state whether this is a widespread problem within the Overwatch 2 community, as reports differ over how many heroes are being locked at once and when players run into this issue.
