At the D23 Expo, those in attendance of the Lucasfilm and Marvel panel were treated to some footage from the upcoming movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. No, we still don't know who is under the mask in the new movie, but we can share what happened in the exclusive footage that won't be released anywhere online.
In the footage, a group like the United Nations is upset that Wakanda won't share its vibranium--because it's very dangerous. A military force storms a Wakandan research center in order to steal some vibranium. At one point, we hear the Queen (Angela Bassett reprises the role): «The king is dead. The Black Panther is gone. They have lost their protector.»
We see the Dora Milaje attacking the military that's breaking into the research center. And while we all really want to know who is the Black Panther in the new movie, that is not revealed here.
The cast took the stage to talk to everyone about the upcoming movie, which arrived in theaters on November 11. «Everything has changed,» said Winston Duke who reprises his role of M'Baku. «Everything is bigger. Everything is better. Everything is new. I'm not the most technologically inclined character, but the tech is cool. The tech is different. I'm excited for everyone to see the family grow.»
«I'm most excited you guys seeing the beautiful story that Mr. Ryan Coogler put his heart and soul into--how the Wakanda family has expanded,» Leticia Wright (Shuri) explained. «We have so many great new characters attached. I'm excited about how impactful this story will be. I'm excited for you to walk out of that cinema and feel proud, and I'm excited for my bro to look down on us and smile.»
