BIP: Maurissa Gunn & Riley Christian Officially Announce Breakup
Bachelor In Paradise fan-favorite couple Maurissa Gunn and Riley Christian have officially announced that they have ended their engagement. This news comes after weeks of speculation that the two had called it quits after fans noticed that Maurissa had removed almost all of the pictures of herself and Riley from her Instagram page. Both she and Riley had been posting cryptic quotations about life that fans had interpreted to mean that they were dealing with a breakup.
Riley, a 32-year-old attorney from New York, and Maurissa, a 25-year-old patient care coordinator from Atlanta, Georgia, fell in love during Bachelor In Paradise season 7. Riley had been searching for someone with whom he could spend Sunday mornings, a lifetime dream of his that would be fulfilled with a wife and children making and eating breakfast together. When Riley proposed to Maurissa in the season finale of the show, he told her that he had loved her since their very first date. They made history when Maurissa said yes, becoming the first Black couple in Bachelor history to get engaged. Since that day, fans have followed their relationship through social media as they posted about spending Sunday mornings together and celebrating holidays such as Halloween and Christmas. However, in the new year, things began to change for the couple.

In a joint statement released to People, Bachelor In Paradise's Maurissa and Riley revealed that they split up a couple of weeks ago, saying, "We have decided to go our separate ways.
