Remembering the safe code in episode one of As Dusk Falls is one of the earliest challenges presented in the game as it requires players to find and memorize the code for this particular moment. Episode one of As Dusk Falls features a young Jay Holt who has the misfortune of losing the safe code from his pocket, and the game doesn't give a warning that players will need to memorize the code before Jay loses the code. When it comes time to open the safe, players must recollect the code from their memory and enter it into the safe before it's too late.
Shortly after the Holts break into a house, Jay will stuff the safe code in his pocket and mistakenly assumes that the paper slip will be there when he needs it. Remembering the code may be easier for those playing As Dusk Falls in multiplayer because only one person needs to remember the code distinctly to enter it. The safe code can be randomly, but failing to use the correct one or not entering the code within the allotted time will result in the alarms going off.
