As one of the top competitive battle royale games, Apex Legends has many talented professional players that compete and often stream their gameplay on a regular basis. Recently, many of the top stars in the game have convened to take part in the latest Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Championship, a LAN event. One of the most popular of those pro players in attendance is ImperialHal.
As part of the esports organization TSM, ImperialHal has made a name for himself playing Apex Legends since the battle royale was released in 2019. In recent months, he has consistently streamed his gameplay to thousands of viewers on Twitch while teaming with Verhulst and Reps, fellow TSM members. While the pro is known for his competitive intensity, he was recently praised for his sportsmanship as well.

While competing in the ALGS Championship event on Saturday, ImperialHal and his teammates came across an unusual situation during one of their matches on the World’s Edge map. Heading towards the train tracks just outside Fragment East, the pro player noticed an opponent standing in the open, not moving. Quickly recognizing that the enemy player had likely lost connection, ImperialHal called out to his teammates, telling them not to open fire. TSM then proceeded to back away from the player, leaving them alone instead of attacking them.
The unusual circumstance of this event is definitely noteworthy. While it is unknown how other pros would have handled the situation as there seems to be no rule forbidding players from killing disconnected opponents, it is still refreshing to see a gamer show sportsmanship to their fellow competitors in the middle of a match.
