An Animal Crossing: New Horizons player recently shared a screenshot of their impressive Crash Bandicoot-inspired jungle island. Since its launch nearly two years ago in March 2020, Animal Crossing: New Horizon's user-generated creations have continuously taken the internet by storm. And, of course, many of the in-game creations took inspiration from popular culture, with players creating everything from the Schitt's Creek motel room to a replica of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's Fort Hateno.
A social simulation game series, Animal Crossing first launched in the early 2000s with its debut adventure releasing on the Nintendo 64 and GameCube. As of December 31, 2021, the title has moved a staggering 37-plus million units worldwide. ACNH remains the second best-selling Switch game, too, and recently dethroned Super Mario Bros. on Famicom to become the top-selling video game in Japan to date. Given the title's popularity, it should come as no surprise that players continue to find new ways of making their own fun.
