In an effort to rectify one of the complaints regarding last year's show, it was confirmed that the upcoming Oscars ceremony will indeed have hosts, with Schumer, Wanda Sykes, and Regina Hall tapped to share MC duties for the evening.
The news was met with a lukewarm reception, with particular concern from fans regarding Schumer's participation. The divisive comedian shared an example of a joke that won't be making the telecast earlier this month, saying, "My husband is going down on me, or as he likes to call it Squid Game. So, he's in my Nightmare Alley…" For many, the joke missed the mark and reaffirmed to Oscars fans that Schumer's brand of humor might not be the best fit for the show, while others defended the comedian's raunchy sensibilities and pushing of boundaries. It's not clear exactly what the show will look like under Schumer, Sykes, and Hall's guidance, but Schumer has already promised that she'll take "a couple risks."

According to Variety, one such idea Schumer had for the ceremony was the inclusion of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, either by recording or live broadcast.
