The world of business laptops is defined by the Lenovo ThinkPad. Those big bulky laptops you see in corporate setups focus solely on productivity and enterprise-grade data security. Lenovo seems to have been working on something similar for smartphones. Based on a new leak, a brand new Motorola device has surfaced carrying the ThinkPhone moniker. The leaked images also showcase a phone inspired by the ThinkPad laptops having a productivity oriented design.
Based on a report from The Tech Outlook, there is a Motorola ThinkPhone expected to break cover soon. The leaked images show a big smartphone wearing the traditional carbon fiber look seen on Lenovo ThinkPad laptops. There's even a ThinkPhone logo in the same stylised font as the ThinkPad font. The phone also appears to have an alert slider in an orange paint scheme, and the front looks like most other flagship Android phones.
Other than the exterior, the leak also gives us a fair idea about the internal specs of the phone. The Motorola ThinkPhone is using the previous generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. This is accompanied by up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The phone is expected to use a 6.6-inch OLED Quad HD+ display with a refresh rate of 144Hz and HDR colours. The camera setup on the rear consists of a 50MP main, 13MP ultrawide, and 2MP depth camera; while the front camera is using a 32MP sensor for selfies.
The phone appears to run a near-stock version of Android and there could be some special features built to promote ecosystem-like features with Lenovo ThinkPad laptops. A 5000mAh battery powers the phone and is backed by a 68W fast wired charging solution.
Motorola is tight-lipped on this handset and hence, we might need to wait until the upcoming CES
