A rogue SpaceX rocket has been hurtling through space since 2015, and in just a few short weeks, it's expected to crash into the Moon. Over the last few years, there's been an exciting resurgence in space exploration. NASA's getting ready to send humans back to the Moon, a rover is actively collecting rock samples on Mars, and scientists are trying to learn if life is hiding within Venus's clouds. There's a lot of ongoing research, countless new discoveries, and it's all very exciting.
The only problem? The more humans venture into the universe and explore it, the more we clutter the place up. Space junk has always been a concern for astronomers, but in 2021, it became a heated point of discussion. Russia exploded a satellite last November, and in turn, it created an additional 1500+ pieces of space junk orbiting the Earth. There was also a report that Earth is starting to grow Saturn-like rings because of how much garbage is around it. It's a worrying situation, and it's one that seems it'll only become worse before getting better.

The latest example of this? A SpaceX rocket is now on track to crash directly into the Moon. Originally launched in February 2015, the rocket was used to transport the Deep Space Climate Observatory (a satellite that's helping astronomers understand space weather and climate). The rocket did its job and got the satellite where it needed to be, but the launch wasn't perfect. The rocket's second burn stage didn't work as expected and knocked it off course. Since then, it's been stuck in the Earth-Moon orbit and hurtling through space with no clear direction. Now, astronomer Bill Gray reports the rocket is expected to crash into the
