Fans' vitriol towards the 90 Day Fiancé franchise is at an all-time high, but despite being regularly derided on social media, TLC shows no signs of initiating any real changes. The network has no reason to alter course, even though viewers are clamoring for them to do so, and they’re unlikely to change any time soon.
Since its inception, 90 Day Fiancé has become incredibly popular, and when fans couldn’t get enough, TLC expanded the franchise. Now there are over a dozen spin-offs and the franchise continues to grow. But fans seem to be getting more disgruntled with the show rather than becoming more invested, and it’s not uncommon to see harsh criticism about the franchise and TLC’s decisions. Though viewers have taken to social media in droves to air their grievances, nothing is likely to change in the franchise.

But it’s better for the show when cast members are controversial, and the franchise is more profitable for TLC when viewers are upset. Every time a fan posts on social media to complain about the show, it creates more buzz, and more buzz means advertisers are more likely to throw their money at the network. Unfortunately for viewers who love to voice their opinions online, much of their ranting against the franchise only benefits TLC.
