Popular 90 Day Fiancé franchise star David Murphey volunteered to fight for Ukraine against the Russian invasion, but he recently revealed the reason why he was turned away. Fans may remember the retired computer programmer from his appearance on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 4 with his young Ukrainian girlfriend Lana. During the introduction segment, it was revealed that although David and Lana had been chatting online for seven years, they had never met in person or talked over a phone call.
90 Day Fiancé viewers were convinced that the 61-year-old techie was getting catfished and doubted he would meet Lana on the show. But the couple shocked fans by getting engaged toward the end of the season. However, their engagement was probably only for the TLC cameras. A few months ago, David revealed that he had stopped talking to Lana, and they weren't in a relationship anymore. Lana also confirmed that she was busy focusing on her career in Ukraine and not dating her American partner David. Despite the breakup with his foreign girlfriend, the 90 Day Fiancé franchise alum was ready to fight for her country when Russia first invaded it.

However, the Las Vegas native recently revealed why he wasn't invited to fight against the Russian army in Ukraine. During a live session on Instagram, David shared that he received a response from the volunteer organization three or four weeks after expressing his interest to serve. Since Ukraine is only accepting volunteers with combat experience, his application was turned down.
