Carriers Are Waiving Roaming/Long-Distance Charges To And From Ukraine
Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, carriers in the U.S. and in Europe are now waiving roaming and international long-distance charges for phone calls and text messages to and from the country. This is not the first time that carriers have made a decision like this, with a similar pausing of charges usually in effect for areas impacted by sudden natural disasters. Back in 2020, many ISPs also suspended data caps when the global pandemic resulted in many more people having to work from home.
