Can MCU's Thunderbolts Movie Even Work Without Thunderbolt Ross?
The upcoming Thunderboltsmovie already faces the challenge of making do without William Hurt's Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, who would have been the perfect leader for Marvel Comics' infamous team. Comprised of mostly reformed supervillains or morally gray heroes, Marvel Comics' long-running Thunderbolts is as prolific and unpredictable as the Avengers, with both leaders and members coming and going throughout the years. One iteration of the Thunderbolts was formed by General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, who was the obvious choice for leading what is basically the MCU's version of the Suicide Squad. However, after actor William Hurt died at the age of 71 on March 13, 2022, it's unclear whether or not Ross is still one of the several existing MCU characters who could appear in Thunderbolts.
