Action director Michael Bay has given his thoughts on Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards.The most recent Oscars ceremony has certainly become one of the most talked about in years. While many groundbreaking things occurred during the iconic awards show — including Jane Campion becoming the first woman in history to win Best Director twice, and CODA actor Troy Kotsur becoming the second deaf actor ever to win an Academy Award — the night was completely overshadowed by one incident. After host Rock made a somewhat tasteless joke about Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, and her shaved head, Smith took the stage, slapped the Rock across the face, and then retook his seat.
