Why NIKKE Players Felt Let Down by the Evangelion Crossover Event

It looks like Shift Up’s crossover with Neon Genesis Evangelion in Goddess of Victory: NIKKE didn’t exactly match the expectations.

A recent interview with Nikke’s producer revealed what they think went wrong in the Nikke x Evangelion collab that dropped in August 2024.

According to Shift Up, the Evangelion collab event had a few flaws. It featured Rei, Asuka, Mari and Misato in outfits that stayed faithful to their original designs, but players weren’t exactly racing to snag them.

Apparently, the initial designs for the Evangelion characters by team Shift Up and Nikke were deemed too erotic for Evangelion’s creators.

So, they later toned down things a bit. The faithful designs pleased the licensors, but the ‘modified’ aesthetics didn’t please the audience.

Helldivers 2's new Democracy Space Station is killing so many Helldivers that the devs are giving out free shields and extra lives in a "temporary" emergency fix
Update: Developer Arrowhead has acknowledged that the Democracy Space Station that Helldivers 2 players spent months fighting for is, in fact, more of a nuisance than anything, causing "an unexpectedly steep increase in heroic sacrifices." To help mitigate all the friendly fire, an emergency "temporary" change has been rolled out, giving all players fighting on DSS-guarded planets extra lives and free shields for a little added buffer.
