Waller Update: Viola Davis DCU Show Not Coming Soon

It may still be a while before DC fans get to see the DCU series. In 2023, James Gunn announced a number of forthcoming DCU movies and television shows.

One of these projects was a The Suicide Squad/Peacemaker spin-off series, titled Waller, focused on Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller character.

While a number of other DCU projects have had forward momentum since then, as Creature Commandos has already been released and Superman now arrives in theaters this July, there’s been little news about Waller.

Per Variety, Gunn has now given an update on the Waller show. Gunn briefly said that Waller has had a “bumpy road” during the pre-production process.

Variety’s article notes that the show is currently “struggling to land the right script.” Christal Henry was tapped to write and executive produce the series, while Gunn and Peter Safran are also serving as executive producers.
