Amazon MGM Studios has just landed, a project with two of this generation’s biggest stars, and Austin Butler, attached to star.

American Hustle and Oppenheimer producer Charles Roven will produce the movie through his Atlas Entertainment banner. Additional producers include RD Whittington and Douglas Banker, with Atlas Entertainment’s Ryan Sanak executive producing.

Dan Wiedenhaupt (Alpha) is writing the script. According to Deadline, American Speed is “based on the true story of the Whittington brothers — three historically famous racecar drivers, two of whom were part of the 1980s IMSA scandal, in which a number of drivers were charged with financing their racing activities with proceeds from drug smuggling, money laundering or tax evasion.” The announcement comes on the heels of Holland’s recent involvement in Christopher Nolan’s next movie, where he will be starring alongside Matt Damon (The Talented Mr.

Ripley, The Martian). The actor also recently confirmed that the filming date for Spider-Man 4 will start “next summer.” Holland is best known for his role of Peter Parker in Marvel Cinematic Universe’s three Spider-Man installments (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home), as well as in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.

Outside the MCU, he also starred in The Impossible, In the Heart of the Sea, The Lost City of Z, The Devil All the Time, Cherry, and Uncharted.
