Sonic Rumble, a new multiplayer Sonic the Hedgehog game, has finally been confirmed following months of leaks and rumors.
The past few years have been an exciting time for fans of Sega’s super-fast platforming mascot, with plenty of Sonic the Hedgehog games, tie-in media, and social media events either released or announced.
The most recent game was Sonic Dream Team, a mobile spin-off that launched on Apple Arcade in December. Sega has also announced a special “Year of Shadow” campaign, celebrating Sonic the Hedgehog’s dark anti-hero ahead of his big-screen debut later this year.
At the beginning of 2024, rumors started to spread of Sega producing a mobile-based, multiplayer Sonic spin-off in the style of Fall Guys.
Tentatively named Sonic Toys Party, this battle royale would reportedly feature up to 32 players racing along colorful obstacle courses as toy-like versions of classic Sonic the Hedgehog characters.
