A is in the works at Netflix, according to a recent report from Variety. The series is a new iteration based on the iconic IP, according to Variety.
A previous D&D series had been in the works at Paramount+, but that project is no longer moving forward, according to Variety’s report.
In partnership with Netflix, Hasbro Entertainment will also produce the television series. The TV show is currently titled “The Forgotten Realms,” a reference to the fantasy world setting that acts as a campaign setting for Dungeons & Dragons.
Drew Crevello, who was previously set to be the showrunner for the Paramount+ series, will make the move to this show, and serve as showrunner for the series, as well as writer and executive producer.
Shawn Levy will also be attached as an executive producer, as will Dan Levine. Dungeons & Dragons is a fantasy tabletop role-playing game originally released in 1974.
