Nintendo has officially announced the Nintendo Switch 2, a new iteration of its popular hybrid console. It keeps the same design, letting players use it as a handheld device or dock it to play on a TV.
The Switch 2 has several improvements, particularly in its processing power. It's expected to perform better than older consoles like the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but not quite reach the levels of the latest consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
Nintendo plans to share more information during an upcoming Nintendo Direct presentation and has scheduled hands-on events for April 2025.
However, there have already been some reveals as to what games are coming to the console. There are not many, but enough that there's a pattern seen.
While a specific release date and price have not yet been announced, a launch in 2025 is anticipated. This has been a fascinating first look at the Nintendo Switch 2, but a lot still remains unclear.
