Yakuza Kiwami is Out Now on Nintendo Switch

The Yakuza franchise has exploded in popularity across nearly all platforms in recent years, though as far as the Nintendo Switch is concerned, it has been entirely missing- until now. In August, it was announced that Sega would finally be bringing the Yakuza series to the Switch in October with Yakuza Kiwami, and the game is out now. 

A remake of the original Yakuza title, Yakuza Kiwami takes players to the small but dense open world setting of Kamurocho, with protagonist Kazuma Kiryu starring in one of his earliest crime sagas. The remake also includes new story content focused on Akira Nishkiyama and Goro Majima, while the latter is also featured as a recurring random enemy that Kiryu has to repeatedly fight. Check out the trailer below for a glimpse of what the game looks like on the Switch. 

Yakuza Kiwami is also available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Hopefully its Switch launch will pave the way for additional Yakuza / Like a Dragon titles to come to Nintendo’s platform as well.

In this mode two teams of up to four players take it in turns to play as the heroes or the villainous Pactsworn. When it's your turn to be the heroes you'll be completing objectives to rack up points, and when it's your turn to be the Pactsworn you'll want to slow down the heroes or kill them off, with your scores being compared once both teams have had a turn.
