The Redmi Note 12 Explorer made headlines last week for sporting a 210W fast wired charging solution. Xiaomi may now bring the lower version of the same to India under a different branding. A new leak now suggests that Xiaomi may launch it in India as the Xiaomi 12i Hypercharge, the successor to last year's Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge. The Hypercharge tag will refer to the fast 210W charging solution, it seems.
The leak comes from tipster Kacper Skrzypek, who says that Xiaomi may bring the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus to India as the Xiaomi 12i Hypercharge. The phone has been spotted listed for Indian markets and could come unchanged to our shores, suggests the leak. However, Xiaomi is yet to confirm anything on this matter and hence, you should for an official update. Moreover, the “i” series of Xiaomi phones usually launch in January of every year, and we could see the same schedule this year.
The Xiaomi 12i Hypercharge will take over the duties from the current Xiaomi 11i series. The phone could take on the likes of the Oppo Reno 8 and Vivo V25. Since it will be based on the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, the specs are expected to be quite appealing.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus comes with a 200MP main rear camera, which could be the first in its segment. This could be accompanied by two other camera sensors on the back. Redmi is also using the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chip, and comes with MIUI 13 based on Android 12. It also features a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display, and goes for a new design that we saw earlier on the Redmi K50i.
What remains to be seen is the pricing. The benefits of the 210W charging are only slighter in comparison over the previous 120W solution and hence, the phone could be priced the same as the Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge.
