A blog post mistakenly posted by Xbox Insider reveals a brand-new update coming for the Xbox Series X/S’s popular Quick Resume feature, and it's one that will make loading times even smaller than before.
Of all the new features the Xbox Series X/S brings to the table, one of its most popular has to be Quick Resume. With it, players can shut off a game at any point and then start it up again right where they stopped. That's without having to save and with barely any loading time. Players can use Quick Resume to switch between apps and games as well. For time-strapped gamers, it is a crucial feature, as it allows players to skip loading up an entire game every time they want to play for a short session.
Xbox Series X Getting Huge UI Upgrade
While there are lots of secret features in the Xbox UI, a new change to Quick Resume has just been revealed by accident. Normally, Xbox Alpha Skip-Ahead users get looks at the latest Xbox Updates before the general public does, and it's a good way to figure out any new UI or feature changes on the way. Recently, though, Xbox Insider teased a new Quick Resume feature for Alpha users that it quickly had to retract. It turns out that the new functionality isn’t part of the latest update, but will be part of a future update.
This new feature will allow Xbox Series X and S consoles to keep two games in Quick Resume no matter what other games are launched. The games only get taken out of Quick Resume if the user removes it manually, or if the game is updated. This is tremendous news for anyone fully utilizing the Xbox Game Pass' vast trove of games, because it's easy to go through game after game. After a certain number of games have been played, they replace other Quick Resume titles.
