Microsoft makes sure that there are always more games added to Xbox Game Pass than there are games that leave the service, but games still leave the lineup on a monthly basis. Microsoft typically removes a batch of games from Xbox Game Pass in the middle of the month and another at the end of the month, with March 2022 continuing that pattern. Four games have been confirmed to be leaving Xbox Game Pass on March 15, so those interested should play them while they can.
March 15 will see Xbox Game Pass remove Nier: Automata, Phogs, The Surge 2, and Torchlight 3. All four games are available to play across the cloud, PC, and Xbox consoles. Subscribers have the opportunity to buy the games at a 20% discount to permanently add them to their collection. So while there may not be quite enough time for Xbox Game Pass subscribers to play all the games to completion while they're still on the service, they can at least give them a try and make a more-informed purchasing decision.
Microsoft Makes Changes to Xbox Game Pass Quests
Out of all the games leaving Xbox Game Pass on March 15, the highest profile departure is Nier: Automata. Nier: Automata is an action-RPG developed by PlatinumGames and published by Square Enix that earned widespread critical acclaim at the time of its release. It's generally considered one of the better action-RPGs of recent years, so fans of the genre will definitely be sad to see it go.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers may not be happy to see the other games removed from the lineup either. Phogs is a unique co-op puzzle game of sorts where two players can each control one end of a dog-like creature. Torchlight 3, meanwhile, is a dungeon crawling game in the same vein as Diablo, while The Surge 2 is a Soulslike.
