All 3 Apple Watches got a new feature that could essentially save your life one day, the Crash Detection feature.
This Apple Watch SE feature can save your life in emergency situations. It is a feature that can detect whether your vehicle has suffered a collision and it can automatically contact emergency services immediately. According to Apple, Apple Watch can detect three types of crashes – side-impact, rear-end collision and rollovers.
According to Apple Support, as soon as the Watch detects a collision, it will make a sound and tap your wrist. If you have only your watch, the screen displays an Emergency Call slider. The Apple Watch detects crashes with the help of its three-axis gyroscope and a high G-force accelerometer. If you have a watch with cellular connection or your watch is connected to Wi-Fi, it can call emergency services automatically. You have the option to dismiss the alert or call emergency services. If you do not respond within 20 seconds, the Apple Watch will automatically call emergency services.
The Apple Watch also sends a message to your emergency contacts sharing your location and alerting them that you have been in a crash.
