The era of Wrath of the Lich King is coming to World of Warcraft Classic soon, with the Pre-Patch beginning on August 30th. Ahead of the formal announcement, some World of Warcraft players discovered a new encrypted file in the Wrath of the Lich King Classic beta which might belong to the Deluxe edition mount.
When World of Warcraft released Burning Crusade Classic, it offered a Deluxe edition mount in the form of the Reawakened Phase-Hunter, formerly available via the Dark Portal Pass. Now, players have discovered an icon and model for the Kalu’ak Whalebone Glider mount, both of which are encrypted in much the same way as the Phase-Hunter was.
World of Warcraft Shadowlands is Free Right Now
This charming kite mount fashioned from whale bone and leather was created by the tuskarr, the walrus humanoids indigenous to arctic lands like Northrend. Though the Whalebone Glider did not appear in the original Wrath of the Lich King, it does appear in the Dragonflight alpha as the flight path mount for the various tuskarr villages around the Dragon Isles.
Though the Whalebone Glider is not confirmed to be the mount for the Deluxe edition of Wrath of the Lich King Classic, evidence suggests it will be. If it is, players can expect the tuskarr-themed mount to receive a higher-resolution version for Retail World of Warcraft in Dragonflight, possibly via the tuskarr’s Renown progression. Either way, players will find out if this mount will be available in Wrath of the Lich King Classic soon, as pre-purchasing could go live alongside the Pre-Patch on the 30th.
