You can get a haircut, dress Geralt up in lavish black leather, and trim your beard, but Roach is left in the dirt as a muddy, shoddy little horse. But X20T3rMiN4t0R has released a mod that lets you pimp your ride.
Called 'The Stable', this mod lets you bring Roach to select merchants across The Continent so that you can alter their colour, spots, mane, tail, hoofs, feathers, eyes, and more. Finally, Roach can match Geralt's unwavering swagger.

In all, there are 240 items you can customise, and you can reach a stable incredibly early to trial it out - they're scattered across White Orchard, Novigrad, Velen, Skellige, and Toussaint. And if you buy a customisation option for Roach, you'll unlock it for good, meaning that you can swap to it again at no cost when you revisit the stables. There's also a preview system so you can see what Roach will look like before you commit.
However, for the mod to work properly, you'll need to download the Hairworks mod. Aside from that, it's a simple installation with the guide laid out on the page, but it's currently in beta meaning that it isn't 100 percent complete. The developer wants to develop their own tools to mod .redcloth in Blender, but rather than delaying the release again, they've decided to launch this earlier version so that you can make Roach more your own.
It's inspired heavily by CD Projekt Red's own barber system in The Witcher 3, making it feel right at home with the other systems of the game. But downloading it will cause problems should you already have any other horse mods installed - any textures, appearance overhauls, or edits will likely cause your game to break, so be wary when installing.
