Twitter has confirmed it is testing an 'Edit' button, but the news has elicited a mixed response from users worldwide. Twitter's announcement about the much-wanted feature came a day after outspoken Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk revealed that he had purchased a 9.2 percent stake in the microblogging platform in a deal believed to be around $2.89 million.
Twitter is one of the largest social media networks in the world, with more than 200 million daily active users as of Dec. 2021. The company was co-founded by Jack Dorsey, who also served as its CEO from 2015 to 2021. However, Dorsey stepped down from his position in Nov. 2021 to assume full-time responsibility for his other co-founded company, Block (formerly Square), while Parag Agarwal took over as Twitter's chief executive.

The 'Edit' button has been a much-requested feature for Twitter, and one of its leading proponents has been Elon Musk, the company's biggest shareholder and newest board member. Musk isn't the only one clamoring for an edit button, either. Thousands of Twitter users have been asking for the feature for years, and it's not difficult to see why. The 'edit' option is available on almost all social media platforms, internet message boards, and all sorts of forums, and its benefits are apparent.
